• No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

    Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to pickup whatever he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the detrimental feedback from other people kill his dream of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

    Phil began playing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning experience and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

    Phil decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for poker. He states that he’s learning every single day and is very abashed about his success. He admits to making blunders in each game of poker and always strives to improve.

    Although Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
