• No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

    Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender in the world by quite a few of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning one. His papa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup anything he could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the adverse comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

    He started competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

    Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and constantly strives to improve.

    Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
