• No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn whatever he could about poker. Phil would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse comments from others destroy his goal of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil began playing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is learning every day and is very abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to improve.

Although Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
