• No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

    Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa showed him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about poker. He routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the negative feedback from other people destroy his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

    He started playing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

    Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is very humble about his success. He admits to making errors every single session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

    Even though Ivey has won some large tournaments, he likes winning money games on a regular basis.
