    Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa showed him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn whatever he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the negative comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.

    Phil began competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

    Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s learning every day and is quite humble about his achievements. Phil knows he makes blunders in each session of poker and always aspires to get better.

    Even though Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a regular basis.
