• Poker Aces – the right way to bet them

    [ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

Poker Aces refers to two aces dealt pre-flop. It’s the strongest possible before theflop hand inholdem Poker. But regardless a great many players end up on the wrong end when dealt this hand.

When you’re given a set of Aces, you just don’t drop out before theflop. You are positioned with the greatest possible hand at this stage of the game. So how do you wager with Poker Aces ? Do you basically go all-in? I’d say definitely no to that.

Remember, you are looking to acquire as much money out of this strong position. You will want to maximize the possibility. Going all-in will merely scare most gamblers into folding without placing a bet.

If you are in the initial seat (first or second to cast a bet), you will lay a single wager. Anybody with a good hand will call, with luck somebody might raise. If there has been a raise don’t spring to re-raise or call, pause for a small bit – make them think you’re considering your options and then call.

After the flop your tactic will be to get rid of anybody that might be able to get a straight or a flush. So I would start to raise boldly, if you’re fortunate you’ll trick 1 player into thinking that you’re faking it.

If you’re in the middle or later seat (near the last to place a bet) you will observe as every player calls and then raise. Even with you sitting with a pair of aces, if possible try to avoid a show-down. Protect your hand by forcing the other players fold after the flop. If you don’t get rid of your opponents you risk losing your hand.
