• NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative comments from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and a continuing passion for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each session of poker and always aspires to get better.

Even though Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
