Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover everything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the detrimental comments from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.
He began competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite humble about his success. He knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a normal basis.
