    At first glance, poker seems to be a simple game like monopoly, scrabble, or video games. When you really go deep into poker, you notice that it is more than just a game. Poker is a game of psychological warfare and only the powerful will survive. After you get the basic framework down for your game, controlling your feelings is the most crucial aspect in playing great poker. Anyone can learn the odds, starting hand necessities, and how to take action in multiple hand situations. Just a tiny percentage of the poker gambling population can maintain their emotions when things are going bad. Gambling well after losing large pots is what separates great players from average ones. Think about everything you attempt in life that follows a familiar sequence. When you’re in a bad mood, you have trouble concentrating on daily events. When you are angry, you have problems contemplating properly. As human beings, we’re very emotional when it comes to life. Poker is a game that shifts us amongst the various array of emotions. We have the greatest highs after winning a huge pot. We have the lowest lows when we are deprived of a huge pot.

    Emotional control is a skill that can be mastered by any person. In any given sport, or game, emotional mastery is the ‘thing’ that makes great players. Similar to anything in the world, it requires a lot of discipline and experience to control your feelings at the poker game.
